High up on the fertile slopes of Mount Elgon in Eastern Uganda lies a hidden treasure cherished by coffee enthusiasts around the world — Natural Bugisu Arabica Coffee. Grown at altitudes of 1,500–2,300 meters above sea level, this coffee thrives in the region’s rich volcanic soils, gentle rainfall, and cool mountain air. The result is a bean celebrated for its smooth body, balanced acidity, and naturally sweet flavor profile.
At Ground Coffee Ltd, we take pride in preserving this authentic heritage. Our coffee is grown under natural conditions, handpicked at peak ripeness, and processed using traditional methods that highlight its true character. From the moment the cherries are harvested to when they are roasted, every stage is guided by quality, care, and respect for the environment.
The journey begins on smallholder farms where generations of Bugisu farmers nurture their coffee trees with skill and dedication. Once harvested, the cherries are pulped, washed, and sun-dried on raised drying beds, allowing for slow, even drying that enhances the aroma and flavor locked inside each bean. We then sort, grade, and prepare our parchment and green beans for roasting or export.
What makes Bugisu Arabica special isn’t just its taste — it’s the story behind it. Every cup you enjoy supports hardworking Ugandan farmers, sustains rural communities, and promotes environmentally responsible agriculture. Whether you prefer your coffee roasted or ground, each sip of Ground Coffee captures the spirit, culture, and beauty of Bugisu.
